News story here

"Everybody knows what chocolate smells like. We've all had different kinds of chocolate, and we figured for all of the chocolate lovers out there it was a way to get a chocolate fix without the calories," Husmann told Reuters.

Chocolate Shirts, each priced at $34.95 (19.88 pounds), have chocolate-scented rubber lettering with phrases like, "Hello, I'm a Chocoholic" or "I love Chocolate."

Cute Writing Utensils!

Who says that your pen has to look like a pen?

Designer Adrian Olabuenaga's crayon pens are perfect for keeping me amused, even when I am busy at the office. Plus, how hilarious would it be for my boss to think that I'm marking up important documents with crayon?

For those who don't want to pay top dollar for designer pens but still want entertaining writing utensils, you can get a pencil-pencil at seejanework.com for only $4.95. (Yes, yes, it's a pencil that looks like a pencil!) What could be better than that?

Dude Where's My Cute Stuff?

Hey! I find it shameful that I am the only person meeting her cute-stuff posting quota. Me and Emily are carrying this team blog! And where's Kim?

Anyways, not very much under cute, but interesting at least:

Earthworm Bracelet from Bittersweets NY

They also have little silver human hearts, cocktail swords, and maggots. Score!

Food Shaped Erasers

The Marukai Dollar Fifty Store, formerly the 98 Cent Store, currently has a RIDICULOUS collection of food eraser sets. I got you all a different one, but it might be worth checking out if you're in Torrance and bored.

Zip Fusion

Sometime in the future, not necessarily for Kim's birthday but maybe just for fun we should go to this place: Zip Fusion

It's in west la in a kind of asiany area on Sawtelle. Ryan and I went there last night. The food was pretty decent, and although not cheap, the portions were pretty good. The salmon steak dinner was $15 but it came with two giant filets of salmon, as compared with a small steak from most other restaurants. Ryan ordered a deep fried Cali roll and it was delicious, and I got "Zip Deep Fried Tofu" which comes out with this great crusty batter and tastes awesome. It's "fusion" cuisine, which seems to mean a fusion of Japanese and Korean food, so they have kalbi and teriyaki and kim-chi tofu. They also serve a variety of Korean soju cocktails.

A lot of the items I would like to try in the future are from the appetizer menu: Dressed Red (fresh whole tomato stuffed with spicy tuna / oven baked served w. green herb sauce), Jalapeño Tuna Tempura (Tuna filled Jumbo Jalapeño served deep fried), Crazy Bulgogi/Pork Tofu (Cold Tofu served with marinated thin sliced Beef or spicy pork), Asparagus Bacon (Fresh Asparagus wrapped with bacon & served deep fried)

They are currently celebrating the grand opening of the Sawtelle location, so the website has a code for a 30% discount with reservations. They also have 5-7pm m-5 Happy Hour with 50% off appetizers and $2.95 drinks.

Lastly, they also have a karaoke bar attached, with little rooms like 501 or a little event room for parties. Might be fun for a night out when Torrance folks are home for holidays or whatnot.

Welcome

This blog is only for posting of cute things and photos of fat wiener dogs. It is named "One Cent Short" as a nod to the 98 cent store, our former beloved home-away-from-home. It was inspired by Emily's adorable use of the American Kestrel one cent stamp on my birthday card. It also evokes the "take a penny, leave a penny" sense of shared ideas and shared cuteness.
